Rodon was out of favour under Ange Postecoglou and had a fantastic loan spell at Elland Road last season, playing a key role as Leeds nearly missed out on instant promotion back to the Premier League.
Letting the 26-year-old rejoin Leeds permanently for £10 million, which is virtually similar to the sum Spurs spent to recruit him from Swansea in 2020, also helps to make up the £40 million they paid for Gray, with chairman Daniel Levy losing only £30 million after Rodon’s departure.
Overall, Spurs’ decision is wise, as they also want to strengthen Postecoglou’s team. There are several other candidates for sale after Rodon.
According to reliable club insider Paul O’Keefe, Tottenham are open to offers for more than a dozen players this summer, with Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier, and Ivan Perisic all leaving Spurs after their contracts expired.
The north Londoners also agreed to terminate Tanguy Ndombele’s contract a year before it was set to expire. According to reports in France, Ndombele is set to join Nice after leaving Spurs, and Bryan Gil, Djed Spence, Giovani Lo Celso, Troy Parrott, Richarlison, Sergio Reguilon, Yves Bissouma, Manor Solomon, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are among the players who could be sold by Tottenham this summer after the aforementioned bunch.
