Manchester United are bracing for offers for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer and are exploring the market for potential replacements.
Wan-Bissaka joined United from Crystal Palace in 2019 with a reputation as one of the best emerging defensive talents in English football. He was a regular under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who aimed to recruit young British players. However, injuries, a dip in form, and the rise of Diogo Dalot have relegated the 26-year-old to more of a squad role rather than a starter.
In January, United triggered an option in Wan-Bissaka’s contract to extend it until 2025, preventing him from leaving on a free transfer this summer and preserving his market value. According to Sky Sports, United are open to letting him go for a ‘suitable’ bid.
While specific interested clubs haven’t been named, a return to Crystal Palace has been speculated. Previously, there were discussions about using Wan-Bissaka in a deal to bring Michael Olise to Old Trafford before Olise moved to Bayern Munich.

If Wan-Bissaka is sold, United have considered several replacements. Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong and Monaco’s Vanderson are among the options.
Frimpong, known for his attacking prowess, scored nine goals and provided as many assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances last season as a wing-back for Xabi Alonso’s championship-winning team. Early July reports from 90min indicated that United, Manchester City, and Barcelona were all interested in Frimpong, who has a €40m (£33.7m) release clause set to expire this summer. United may need to act quickly to secure his services without paying hefty transfer fees.
Vanderson, a 23-year-old Brazilian, is another potential target. Like Frimpong, Vanderson is an attack-minded full-back and is expected to be a more cost-effective option.
As United navigate their right-back options, the decisions made in the coming weeks will be crucial in shaping their defensive lineup for the new season.
