Liverpool has announced that three Women’s Super League fixtures will be held at Anfield during the 2024/25 season.
Following the end of the previous campaign, Liverpool confirmed they would be moving from Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park, their home since 2018, to the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens for most of their home games.
However, the club has now confirmed that three matches will take place at Anfield, an increase from the one game held there last season—the Merseyside derby against Everton, which drew 23,000 fans.
In the 2024/25 season, Liverpool’s league matches against Manchester City (13 October), Manchester United (16 March), and Everton (4 May) will be played at Anfield. The club has also introduced a ‘hat-trick package’ allowing supporters to buy one ticket for access to all three games.
Susan Black, Liverpool’s director of communications and executive director, expressed her excitement: “We’re thrilled to be hosting more WSL games next season at Anfield. Next season will be another exciting chapter for our women’s first team with a new home stadium alongside more games at Anfield. This is great news for the players and the fans, with both stadiums offering excellent matchday facilities. This announcement marks another positive step forward on our journey.”
Liverpool’s women’s team, managed by Matt Beard, will be aiming to improve on their fourth-place finish in the WSL last season. They edged out Manchester United for a top-four spot in 2023/24 and are now targeting European qualification.
