You Would not Believe, as reported by Fabrizio Romano
As Bayern Munich gets closer to signing Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, they may let Kingsley Coman go this summer. In an exclusive interview with Caught Offside for his Daily Briefing piece today, Fabrizio Romano said that Coman would consider leaving Bayern because Olise gives their attack yet another weapon.
There is a lot of talent at that position under new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany, with Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane looking like the most likely players to stay at the Allianz Arena. Romano has identified Coman as the most likely of those three players to depart.
The Olise to Bayern deal is getting closer to completion, and it appears that Bayern will be active this summer as Coman may depart while other targets, including Xavi Simons and Joao Palhinha in midfield and Jonathan Tah, a defender for Bayer Leverkusen, are still on the club’s wish list, according to Romano.
Coman’s move when Olise joins Bayern Munich?
Speaking about Bayern’s intentions, Romano declared: “This week, Michael Olise will join Bayern Munich as a new player. Bayern and Olise are in agreement, and they will fulfill his release clause at Crystal Palace, which is for £45 million plus a further £5 million.
“Bayern are currently working on other deals, including Jonathan Tah,” he continued. Let’s see if they can come to an arrangement, since the Bayer Leverkusen center back wants to play for Bayern. We’ll have to wait till after the Euros to see Xavi Simons. Negotiations involving Joao Palhinha, who is pressing for the trade, are still ongoing between Bayern and Fulham.
“With the Olise signing, I’ve had some fans asking me questions about what it could mean for the futures of Bayern’s other attacking players. My understanding is that Bayern are happy with Leroy Sane, while Serge Gnabry has publicly said that he’d be happy to stay, so we’ll see what happens in case of proposals.
“Kingsley Coman is probably the player I’d say has the highest chances of leaving Bayern – he’s open to possible proposals and so are Bayern, but despite links with PSG the race is still absolutely open, it’s not something concrete or imminent, despite what’s been reported elsewhere.”
