The Arne Slot era at Liverpool is officially on course, and the new manager is striving to build a competitive team at Anfield, just like his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds finished third in the Premier League in 2023-24, failing to win a major prize during Klopp’s last season. Slot hopes to fix a variety of weaknesses in Liverpool’s roster this summer, with the Dutchman focusing on the midfield and attack first. Liverpool is interested in signing two players from Real Madrid, the La Liga and Champions League winners.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Liverpool are considering signing Arda Guler and Rodrygo this summer, although it is uncertain whether Madrid would be willing to let either player go. Both players contributed to the La Liga giants’ victories in the Spanish league and the Champions League.
Rodrygo, one of Madrid’s rising stars in recent years, helped Los Blancos win the La Liga trophy by scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances. Despite limited playing opportunities, Guler has demonstrated that he has the talent to reach the top.
With Endrick and Kylian Mbappe joining the club this summer, Rodrygo will have less playing time, and in order to play more first-team games, he may contemplate leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
Liverpool are attempting a loan deal for two Real Madrid talents.
The Reds are looking at loan deals for both players, although buying Rodrygo would be extremely expensive, with the midfielder contracted to Real Madrid until 2028.
A loan agreement would reduce Liverpool’s financial load while also providing the Real Madrid duo the opportunity to play regular games and showcase their capabilities on the biggest stage.
These potential arrivals would boost Liverpool’s attacking potential while also introducing fresh players who could adapt to Slot’s tactical needs.
It remains to be seen whether the Madrid club will agree to a deal for its highly valued players.
The 19-year-old Guler is apparently Slot’s major goal this summer, following an excellent performance for Turkey against Georgia at Euro 2024.
